This course covers the ‘full range’ of the basics in creating, editing and formatting Flash applications and animations. The basic properties of how animations work, creating animations and controlling how they run are covered in the course.
You will learn how to create and apply various colours and other formatting, how to add interactive components and how to control speed and timing of a Flash application. You will also look at how to convert your Flash animation or application so it can be viewed on the web.
This course is a great springboard into using Flash to its maximum advantage.
Outcomes:
-
Identify components of Flash CS3 and its files.
-
Create a new file from a template.
-
Set ‘Stage’ properties, import images, create text blocks, drawing objects and shapes
-
Apply formatting (fills and strokes) and transformations to shapes.
-
Create, name and manage layers.
-
Identify components of the ‘Timeline’, create frames, work with keyframes, control application’s duration.
-
Create custom colors and gradients, save custom swatches, apply transparency, filters, and the Soften Fill Edges command.
-
Create a frame-by-frame animation, create a motion tweened animation, control the speed of animations, apply color effects, and create a movie clip animation.
-
Create static buttons, rollover buttons, and invisible buttons, create a basic ActionScript, use script buttons for controlling background music.
-

Converting digital video into a Flash file, compression and optimisation issues and how to add interactive scene access points are also covered in the hands-on exercises.
This course is perfect for anybody requiring more control, power and confidence in using Flash.
Outcomes:
-
Create vector paths by using the Pen tool, modify vector paths, and use paths to create mask layers.
-
Add timeline effects to create transitions and animation.
-
Add motion paths to move objects along curves, apply shape tweening to morph one shape into another, and control speed of animation.
-
Adjust movie clip properties with ActionScript and make a movie clip move in response to a button click.
-
Add CheckBoxes, RadioButtons, and text input boxes to allow users to enter data.
-
Write validation scripts to control the data entered.
-
Customise a theme, create global and class styles, and apply dynamic content via components.
