Digital Cameras & Photoshop Elements Essentials & Beyond (1 Day Course)
Brief Outline
Would you like to know how to get the best images from your digital camera?
You will learn how to improve and enhance your images, and remove red-eye and unwanted parts of images. Learn how to create montage and panoramas as well as work with layers and text.
Included are free trial versions of image editing and organising software as well as your course notes and training manual. You are encouraged to bring along your own camera to use during the course. You will create and work with examples of typical images, such as landscapes, portraits and many others.
Detailed Outcomes
By the end of your learning, you will be able to:
- State the meanings of digital imaging terms ("pixels", "megapixels", "MB", "JPG", "resampling", etc).
- Operate the digital camera and adjust its resolution and image quality.
- Transfer images to the PC and organise them.
- Enhance images to obtain the best quality.
- Apply special effects (dodge and burn, embossing, mosaic, rippling, wave, etc) to the whole or parts of an image.
- Touch up images (e.g., remove scratches, erase unwanted areas, add colour and remove red eye, etc).
- Create montages of images (combine images, use layers, etc).
- Adjust the image file size and print time.
- Print images (on an inhouse printer).
- Use an online service to print digital images.
- Create CD/DVD slide shows.
- Create postcards and calendars.
- Send images via e-mail.
Recommended Prior Experience (Prerequisites)
No experience in using Photoshop Elements is required nor assumed. Participants are expected to have a sound knowledge of and experience with a Windows PC.
